While the parents may get excited for preparing their nursery for their baby, many do not think about the safety issues surrounding baby bedding. Cute comforters with matching colors will attract us apart from its bad effects. To escape from this some tips are available to know you that your baby's cot is safe to your baby and have comfortable space with the stylish look.
When choosing baby bedding, you really only need fitted sheets and light weight receiving blankets. Comforters are usually not used on children under the age of 2 so it is not a necessity to buy a baby bedding set that comes with one. Never cover an infant (0-12 months) with a heavy blanket because not only will your child overheat during slumber but it is also a suffocation hazard.
Instead of using heavy blankets, pay attention to the temperature in the nursery to keep the room comfortable and for clothing, use lightweight one-piece pajamas in the summer and thicker sleepers or wearable blankets in the winter.
Baby bumpers have been linked to SIDS, therefore you should discard any bumpers that may come with your crib bedding, as they are not safe. If your baby is old enough to start climbing around, a crib bumper will provide him or her with a boost that he or she needs to escape the crib. Bumpers are a bad idea, no matter how cute they are, when it comes to baby girl and baby boys bedding.
While cute and cuddly, stuffed animals should be removed from the crib before your child is asleep as they can cause your child to suffocate. Toys can be allowed in the crib with adult supervision, but they should be removed when the child begins to fall asleep.
Crib bedding does so much to give a nursery its atmosphere, but you need to keep in mind that those fluffy comforters and pillows are actually not safe for your baby, and should be used only for looks, not for sleeping. Keep infant bedding to a minimum, and if you're not sure about something, ask your pediatrician for advice.
A pillow and comforters are appropriate for toddler beds, but by then your child may have a say in the decor.
