Holiday Villas in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote: Great Choice for a Bargain Family Holiday

by John Spire

Playa Blanca, Lanzarote is increasingly laying claim to be the favourite resort on Lanzarote for families. Located in the south of Lanzarote, Playa Blanca enjoys the best weather on the island and is an ideal winter holiday destination as well. Owners of Lanzarote holiday villas quickly find themselves booked up for the February half term breaks, as well as for Christmas, New Year and Easter.

There are now a wide range of flights to Lanzarote, from all of the major UK airports, and this means that off peak flights can be bought routinely for under 150 return, and often considerably lower. With holiday villas in Playa Blanca as well as other Lanzarote resorts starting at around 400 pounds per week or less, this means that a family of four can enjoy the island for a week for as little as 1,000 pounds plus spending money.

Playa Blanca is a thriving family resort and is not in the least bit \'tacky\'. Its successful development has been based around the development of high quality, luxury holiday villas and apartments, as well as some excellent 4 and 5 star hotels. There is also a wide choice of restaurants to suit all budgets, and you don\'t need to spend a fortune whilst on the island. Restaurants in Playa Blanca cater really well for families, and a meal for four can be enjoyed for no more than around 35 euros in many of the eateries adjoining the town\'s main beaches.

Playa Blanca enjoys some of the best beaches in the Canary Islands, including several at Costa Papagayo (now a National Park) at the northern end of Playa Blanca, Playa Dorada (close to Marina Rubicon), the main Town Beach of Playa Blanca, and Playa Flamingo at the southern end. In between, there is also the port of Playa Blanca, where ferries travel to and from Fuerteventura.

When it comes to really enjoying a family holiday in Lanzarote, most previous visitors would probably say that some of the best Lanzarote villas can be found in and around Playa Blanca. These range in size from 2 bedroomed villas close to the centre, to 4 bedroomed luxury detached properties, further south from the town towards the lighthouse and Montana Roja (Red Mountain) areas. Many of these villas enjoy great views of the Bocaina Straits, as well as the neighbouring islands of Fuerteventura and Lobos.

A relevant search on Google will bring up several Lanzarote specialist villa agencies, who tend to be more knowledgeable than the more international villa advertising sites. They can always help with advice about the best areas in Playa Blanca, the need for a car, local excursions and activities, and so on.

Not surprising then that so many happy customers recommend the holiday villas in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote for a bargain family break where you can enjoy almost guaranteed year-round sunshine.
