Ground Pool Ladder
can I use sand to walk under liner for above ground pool ...?
I am installing an above ground pool for hydrotherapy for my dog hock with aging issues. I am a pool ladder but thinkign safety for dogs ... I would be able to use the sand under the liner on one side up to withdraw so that a foot or two below the rim. pool side is 48 cm. consider doing this on the side of the pool is down 2 feet into the earth where we leveled the yard. So it would cause preasure on both sides. would use masonry sand. a hoist is not good, because if the dogs go in unsupervised, which I imagine will happen they need a way to get out on their own ... have thought of preformed pool steps, but the cost has me there ... used them are beign sold for almost new price. also considered building of an "A" frame of wood with a PVC bottom for the pool, but that will not be long in the water. platic is too slick can not use the plexi-glass sheets. No deck at this moment will come next year or later.
IMHO I do not think the sand would hold its shape for very long, you can end up with a driveway, unless you use the form of concrete steps. There is also the issue of keeping the smooth liner on the "obstruction" that you just built. You can look into buying a stairway to the pool instead of using a ladder.
